Hi, Welcome to another post and this one is a CASE straight out of the occasions catalogue.  The gift bag layout for the pictorial spread of the stamp set Special Reason, is also purrrfect for a card.  This is what the A Crafty Cat team created in class.

Always Artichoke is also an excellent choice for the card base...

The layout is a simply an embossed card base with an embossed flag/banner on which the stamping and die cuts are laid out on.  The card is finished with a tie of twine at the top.  The colours used were Early Expresso and Peek-a-boo Peach.

Stampin' Up! Bokeh technique with A Crafty Cat team

The stunning technique of Bokeh has been practiced by a few of the A Crafty Cat team. Stunning and simply achieved, the technique involves sponging various colours on the background, stamping the foliage and then masking, with a mask of varying sized circles, and sponging over that with White Craft Ink.

Stampin' Up! Jar of Love & Papillion Potpourri

Heather is a very talented at creating stunning cards using Stampin' Up! products.  Her creations often inspire me to CASE ;-) and today's post showcases a beautiful card Heather has created and our cased examples.  The Jar (from Jar of Love) releasing butterflies (from the Papillion Potpourri set, now retired) and that wonderful Bokeh Designer Series Paper from a retired DSP stack Serene Scenery, gave rise to this beautiful card...
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Papillion Potpourri, Jar of Love x Heather Payne
Perfect Plum sponging with a little Old Olive and Marina Mist was a popular colour choice to mimic the technique and instead of butterflied, the A Crafty Cat team chose the fire flies...
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Bokeh technique with Jar of Love
The bokeh techniques was achieved by placing a mask of different sized circles over the sponged background and dabbing White Craft Ink over the circular openings of the mask...

The Jar was cut out of velum to give the appearance of a real jar...love that effect! and the fire flies were die cut using the coordinating thinlits...

I love the creations my team shares and how it inspires not only me but the rest of class participants to try something new.  I hope you have a purrrfectly crafty week.

Stampin' Up! Bokeh technique with Butterfly Basics,

To mimic the bokeh technique, first you have to sponge the background in patchy colours, then using a mask with random circles of different sizes, sponge white craft ink over the image.

The effect is amazing and so easy to achieve!

Stampin' Up! Fussy Cutting edges

A lovely finish to a card is a boarder of fussy cutting.  This post showcases the technique where the edge of the card stock is stamped and then fussy cut to produce a very striking card!

A Crafty Cat - Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight
In Berry Burst, Stampin' Up! new hot pink in colour,
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight

and Tranquil Tide below, the cards are simply created by stamping and fussy cutting the mat that is adhered to the coloured base card. The stamping is colour coordinated with the ink and Designer Series Paper. The sentiment "thank you" is from the Daisy Delight set (143669)
A Crafty Cat - Stampin' Up! Butterfly Basics
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Butterfly Basics
You can choose any stamp for this layout - above I used the butterfly from Butterfly Basics (137154) and masked to over lap the butterflies, then die cut the detailed butterfly to add depth to the card.

A Crafty Cat - Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight
Back to Daisy Delight - just a gorgeous little flower that can be transformed into any aster with consideration of colour, petal shape and petal density.  I AM having a lot of fun with this bundle (145361)
