Stampin' Up! Sunburst

I love Stampin' Up! new Sunburst thinlit die.  Today I'm using it in its entirety as a background feature for my cards.  I'm using a combination of card stock to coordinate with colours in my chosen Designer Series Paper (DSP)...

The centre features a bouquet of balloons created using the balloon punch and the greeting is from the Stampin' Up! set Build a Birthday.

The centre features a greeting from Rose Wonder and kisses and hugs from the Circle Card thinlits die set.

My camera threw and odd colour for the Calypso Coral, but that is Calypso Coral!

These were created using the mirror image of each starburst die cut - I kept the fall out pieces when I die cut the DSP and the cardstock and cross matched them...

The cardstock die cut is on the left and the DSP die cut is on the right, then the cut out pieces glued back to create the two effects....and no wasted pieces of paper!

I did have so much fun playing with these - stay posted as I will play with these in the NEW DSP...

Stampin' Up! Circle Swing card Minion

Stamping' Up! Circle Swing card thinlit dies make it a breeze to create cards for all occasions.  Today I want to share with you this card CASED from Pinterest - the minion thank you swing card. My son and I created a run of these as a "thank you" to our dinner guests who attended his Birthday dinner and for those who gave him gifts.
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Swing card Minion
The card was simple as I was creating these with my son,
The overalls were made of four rectangles of Marina Mist
Overall straps 2x 4cm x 1cm
Overall LHS 4cm x 3cm RHS 6cm x 3cm
These were glued onto the Daffodil Delight card stock, cut using the bid shot and swine card die by Stampin' Up! Two black circles from the Owl builder punch secure the overalls as buttons.

The eyes were cut from silver paper
Whisper White 2 1/4" using Stampin' Up! circle dies.
Early Expresso 1" Stampin' Up! circle punch
Basic Black 1/2" Stampin' Up! circle punch
The goggle was cut from silver foil paper 2 1/2"  and next size down, using Stampin' Up! circle dies
And they were glued one on top of the other.

Two black 2cm and 6 1/2 cm x 1cm strips were then glued on the card to complete the goggle.

The mouth, that was simply created by cutting the edge of a card with a circle punch and cutting again to get the smile, so yes they are all a little different.

You could then add stitching to the overalls and add detail to the button but time was of the essence and I had a 6yr old helping me ;-)

Stay posted for the next circle swing card creation - a Birthday card for a horse lover,
Until then,

Stampin' Up! Circle Swing card - horses for an 8yr old

She loves horses, she is turning 8 and her favourite colour is orange... A swing card is what came to my mind and this is my creation for a very special little girl.

A Crafty Cat: Stamping' Up! Circle Swing Card
The orange base was cut out of Stampin' Up! Pumpkin Pie card stock and stamped in Early Expresso ink. The horse shoe is from the Stampin' Up! set Horse Frontier as is the horse which was stamped on Stampin' Up! cardstock - Crumb Cake and then fussy cut and mounted on the rear of the card with the head poking through the circular opening - I wanted the effect of the horse poking his head through the stable...
A Crafty Cat: Stamping' Up! Circle Swing Card
The figure 8 was double cut out of Stampin' Up! Garden Green cardstock and mounted either side of the circular opening which is wonderfully demonstrated by Lyssa, so click HERE to find out how to make the open window circular swing card.

The Accordion card fold is such a fun 3 dimensional card fold to decorate and with Stampin' Up! Botanical Blooms and Botanical Builder Framelits dies, embellishing could not be easier.  This is what I created to inspire for an up coming class...

A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Accordion Fold
Yes I had to add butterflies and I love the monarch butterfly, hence the colours of Tangerine Tango and Pumpkin pie in the background.  The blossoms are in Whisper White with centres of Blackberry Bliss and Gold.   The foliage was cut in colours of Wild Wasabi and Always Artichoke, sketched on and sponging done in Old Olive...

There is a lot of work in the cutting out of flowers, leaves and stamen, but the effort is worth it.  These are magnificent cards, ones I'm proud to pass on.
