Faux Patina x Heather Payne

Heather is a very talented card maker and paper crafter as I am sure you will agree after seeing this amazing card creation. Using her faux patina sample pieces and the camera from Stampin' Up! Traveler stamp set, this is her creation...
Acraftycat: Faux Patina x Heater Payne, Traveler, World Map
On Daffodil Delight cardstock Heather stamped in soft sued the world Map background stamp by Stampin' Up! This was wrapped in crumb cake seam binding (sponged with soft sued) and black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, and then mounted on Soft Sued cardstock which had its edges sponged.  Heather the mounted her faux patina sample onto black  and placed the camera on black (to give a shadow) and finished it of with a greeting on Whisper White.

The camera was stamped on Very Vanilla in Stayzon and coloured in basic grey and Burnt sugar, the lens left to capture the light of the card.  The photo below captures the beautiful gold powder embossing on the dry embossed background.

The card was finished off with three basic black candy dots - totally stunning...

Faux Patina showcase Two

Faux Patina is a wonderful technique that can be used for that bit of vintage, a bit of metallic effect, a bit of fun! This is a great video by toocoolstamping, demonstrating the Faux Patina technique.  Put simply you emboss a piece of card stock, layer colour by sponging and then randomly powder emboss.  It is so much fun my son did it with me.  What did acraftycat customers do with this....
these some of the creations from the first class.

Embossed Wild Wasabi on Soft Sued complimented with Gold ribbon and embossing powder.....another beautiful Heather Payne creation!

Bow Builder Punch x Stampin' Up!

Bows are a great addition to a female card and so many things can be made out of the bow builder.  For this post I will concentrate on a couple of cards I made - with a bow and a flower, yes both made with the bow builder punch. Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point and Melon Mambo are the colours used on these bows - pure and simple, I just love the white background embossed with the Arrows 132187 Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

Baby Shower, Easel card for Tripplets

A baby shower card for a Mum carrying triplets was the challenge for today.  This easel card, created by Melinda Larsen, seemed the most appropriate way of showcasing the gorgeous cover of the card and allowed the incorporation of the colours and buttons that were part of the gifting theme.

A Crafty Cat: Melinda Larsen baby shower card

Melinda and I created this card together from a couple of ideas Melinda had found on pinterest.  The three tags, one for each girl, the pink and brown to incorporate the colours of the accompanying gift given to the Mum.

With a background of stars, embossed with Stampin' Up! embossing folderxxx to set each mounted tag upon, each tag stamped with a giraffe from the retired Stampin' Up! set "wild about you" the white highlighted the stamping and ribbon chosen...
A Crafty Cat: Melinda Larsen baby shower card
"for your shower" also from a retired word set; was stamped in Soft Suede, white on pink pirouette finished with pearls, very classy!  from the angle...

The card was completed late at night so I apologise that the photos are not better.  I hope you can see the beautiful detail, the layers included in this gorgeous card, a gift in itself.

A Crafty Cat - Stampin' Up! Mother's Day

I offered one of three layouts for an afternoon Mother's Day class, the Friday before Mother's Day.  The card layouts featured different techniques and layouts; dry embossing, to masking and sponging to 2-step stamping.  This is just a snippet of what we created...
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Sheltering Tree

Some wrote words of Thanks...

The versatility of the layout showed it could also be used as a female and masculine card...

It is so easy to create simply lovely cards for Mother's Day, I hope one of these layouts appeal and encourage you to create and give a card of love to a "Mum" in your life who has nurtured you.
